From jam sessions in high school music classes to shaping one of Canberra’s most exciting creative hubs, Mili Fisher and Josh Abrokwah (aka Jay) are redefining what a “studio project” can be with Room 04.

Speaking with The Real Radio Show hosts Hannah and Barrett, the duo shared how the project evolved from their band roots into a collaborative space at Ainslie Arts Centre, bringing together local artists to create, record, and share their stories.

Their latest venture, In Class Live Sets – inspired by Tiny Desk but with a deeper focus on storytelling – puts rising talent like Romilda in the spotlight, capturing not just the music but the people behind it.

With a strong commitment to showcasing Canberra artists often overlooked by bigger stages, Room 04 is building a platform that’s as community-driven as it is creative.
