Cameron’s experience prompts a lot of conversation around mental health stigma, comorbidity issues and homelessness in which he is very open to talking about. Cameron moves on to opening uo about some of his personal experiences with culture and shares a very strong and emotional journey on how he gave his father the greatest gift of all.

    Biography:
    Cameron Moore is a proud Wiradjuri man whose life has taken him across many paths. Starting with a combined 25 years’ experience across government, tertiary education, and the community sector where he became an award-winning innovator Cameron, has also had a few ventures away from the world of public service. Cameron and his partner successfully owned and operated their own hair salon for 10 years and if that wasn’t enough Cameron has taken his love for motorbike riding to a competitive level by competing in an international motocross championships held in California in 2016. His exploits and resume aside, Cameron is a caring, intelligent, passionate and funny man who is invested in improving the people’s wellbeing.

    Biography:

    Bri Jean is a TikTok creator and real estate agent who was proudly born and raised in Canberra. She began her career in the federal public service but felt the pull to reconnect with her creative side, which led her to photography. After her career in photography halted, she still wanted to stay connected to her creativity – so she began her social media journey, starting to make TikToks during the 2020 lockdown. What began as a fun outlet
    quickly evolved into a platform where she could blend humour, creativity and commentary – all while showcasing the heart of Canberra.

    Once Upon a Time… in Canberra Tino arrived from Hong Kong. Tino looked over vast empty fields, though this was not a farm in the outback. This was Canberra in the 1960s. In this captivating episode our guest Tino discusses pioneering Canberra’s restaurant scene in the 1970s. Introducing Malaysian, Pekingese, and Sichuan cuisines to reshaping Canberra’s cultural landscape and watching the city rise to a true capital city. Tino offers a fresh perspective on the city’s charm as a place to live and study. Tune in for a heartfelt look at the capital’s evolution and why it remains, in his view, an exceptional place to call home.

    Our interviewee is Tino Chan, a retired baby boomer, who is currently expanding his educational knowledge by pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies at the University of Canberra. He originally came to Sydney from Hong Kong as an international student in 1962 and moved to Canberra in the mid-1960s to study a Bachelor of Economics at the Australian National University, graduating in 1970. Tino’s professional career spanned decades in the Commonwealth Public Services and the hospitality industry. Throughout his time in Canberra Tino has seen it grow from a one shop stop to a beautiful city. After retiring a decade ago, he chose to re-engage with academia, earning degrees in Management and International Business at UC.
