The University of Canberra’s very own radio station, UCFM, turns 30 on the 10th of August 2024 and to celebrate they are hosting a live countdown at the bar on campus, UCBarx.

The day will run from 12pm until 6pm with a countdown for the top 30 songs from the past 30 years, from 1994 to 2024, which anyone has the chance to vote for which song they believe should be in the top 30 at ucfm.com.au.

The event will not only have the live countdown at the bar but will also have live performances from three incredible local artists Sophie Edwards, All Day Breakfast and Jett Blyton.

Rachael White, Radio and Media Resource Manager of UCFM, expressed her excitement for such a massive day and milestone for the Radio Station and University as there will be “a live radio broadcast hosted by UC students. In between the countdown and live performances there will be bite size versions of some of UCFM’s regular radio programs – Hear Owl About, Monday Matchup, Quiziots, Radical Reviews, The Inkwell Library” with opportunity to win prizes. There will also be the opportunity to win giveaways throughout the day as they make their way down to the number one song.

On top of the prizes and giveaways, the bar is offering food and drink specials to enjoy on your Saturday with the family and friends.
