AJ and Alison spoke with Ross Triffett from Events ACT this week on The Real Radio Show to chat about Floriade 2025, Australia’s largest celebration of spring and the biggest flower festival in the southern hemisphere. This year’s theme, Science and Nature, brings a fresh twist to the iconic floral displays, with garden beds inspired by physics, chemistry, astronomy, and more. But Floriade is far more than just flowers, expect live entertainment, food and wine, workshops, market stalls, and the ever-popular NightFest.
With over a million blooms planted in Commonwealth Park and an additional 300,000 across Canberra through the Floriade Community program, the city is set to burst into colour. Highlights include Dogs Day Out, the Casador circus tent, and the Great Big Bulb Dig, where visitors can take home a piece of Floriade while supporting local charities. Running from 13 September to 12 October, this year’s festival promises something for everyone.
