Canberra’s Mill Theatre, one of the city’s newest live performance venues, continues to make its mark with a bold new production: Enron. Running until August 9, the show explores the infamous rise and collapse of the American energy giant in a fast-paced, theatrical retelling. Producer Lexi Sekuless and cast member Alana Denham Preston say the show blends magical realism with sharp storytelling, making complex financial events both entertaining and emotionally gripping—even for those without a background in economics.
Housed in an intimate 67-seat L-shaped theatre—the first of its kind in the ACT—the Mill Theatre offers audiences an immersive and communal experience. Sekuless, who founded the theatre in 2022, emphasizes innovation in both production and policy, bringing a unique approach to rehearsals and communication behind the scenes. With a striking set design, powerful performances, and a clear mission to support Canberra creatives, Enron proves the Mill isn’t just new—it’s essential.
